Brief Summary of "Servants Like Jesus" Grant

SUMMARY OF "SERVANTS LIKE JESUS" GRANT

As 2024 came to a close, Bethel United Methodist Church received the exciting news that our church had been approved for a grant awarded by the North Alabama Conference Of The United Methodist Church.

We were overjoyed by this news, and are beginning to take steps to make this project a reality.

The grant is entitled "SERVANTS LIKE JESUS"

Our Community Garden is described as follows:

This initiative is a spiritual journey that will bring people from all denominations, and all walks of life,  together from both near and far, uniting our community in a shared mission of faith, service, and growth. Through this project, we aim to nourish both body and spirit while advancing the church’s mission and outreach. We invite everyone to join us in cultivating not just food, but also fellowship, hope, and a deeper connection with one another and with God."

So as you can see, our Community Garden is not just about gardening alone, but it is about gardening for the purpose of Outreach, Ministry,. and Evangelism . . .

Because the grant was not 100% funded, we are anticipating the support of our entire community, as well as the faith community.   WE ARE INVITING ALL OUR AREA CHURCHES AND ORGANIZATIONS TO ASSIST US BY GIVING FINANCIAL DONATIONS, AS WELL AS GIFTS FOR THE GARDEN (I.E. TOOLS, FURNISHINGS, LUMBER, AND LABOR).

THIS GARDEN WILL TRULY BE A LABOR OF LOVE.   AS our United Methodist "Watchword" says, we are the "People Of God, Open Doors, Open Hearts and Open Minds."
